Last Updated 16 June 2009, 18:41 IST

Addressing media persons here on Monday, he said the dharna would also urge the shifting of the court that has been functioning in the MCC building to the completed part of the court complex at the earliest.
“Works for the second phase of the complex were started on July 4, 2007 which should have been completed on January 4, 2009. But since the government has not paid the amount to the contractors, works of the second phase have not been finished so far,” Chengappa said.
He demanded immediate release of Rs 18.25 crore for taking up the third phase of the work.
Though the matter was brought into the notice of Chief Minister B  S Yeddyurappa, Law Minister Suresh Kumar, Rural Development Minister Shobha Karandlaje and Public Works Department Minister C M Udasi, no action has been taken, he alleged.
The Association has given an ultimatum, beginning from June 17, to the government to meet its demands failing to which the Association would further intensify the protest. “Advocates of the entire district will join us if the government fails to meet our demands,” Chengappa added.
