The Wesley English was constructed on 31 July, 1880 mainly for the English speaking Christians in the city. With only 25 people attending the prayers then to more than 250 families devoted to the church now indicates the popularity and reach of the church among the masses. Today, the church is not only a symbol christian faith but  an edifice that reflects the old colonial charm of Bangalore.

The 122 years celebration started with simple sermons, prayer for all and followed by choir. The feast saw people of all faith coming together to celebrate this eventful day in history of the church.

We have spent close to Rs 25 lakh to renovate the church by constructing retention walls to support the main building. But we have maintained the original aesthetic beauty of the church, said Pastor Florence Deenadayalan.

Along with the prayer services the church is also actively involved in community service. The church has given scholarship for 40 under-privileged students, the Wesley old age Home that houses 15 senior citizens and runs a creche for slum children.
