Woman kills self, children

The incident came to light on Sunday when the bodies of children were found in river.
Gowramma (26), her children Satya (4) and Dharma (2) are the dead. The woman took the extreme step due to dowry harassment by her husband Basavaraju and his family, police said.

Gowramma hailed from Hunasinahalli in H D Kote taluk and was married to Basavaraju of Akala village in Nanjangud for five years.  The husband and his family members started torturing her for dowry in last two years. Gowramma’s body is yet to be traced.

The woman’s brother has lodged a complaint against husband Basavarju and his family members. A case has been registered.
