'Take care of martyrs' families'

Nayak Gollapa Vasan, Lance Kausimani, Sipoy Ravindra Salguri, Head Constable Shivappa, R Mallikarjuna, Lance Naik Sanjay Nimbalkar, Constable K N Ramesh, Hawaldar Basappa K Talwarkar and Subedar  Major Bana Singh were remembered on the occasion and a memento was given to each of their families.

‘Allot sites or houses’

Felicitating the heroes and their families, Governor H R Bhardwaj said that the families who have lost their bread winner in the battlefield should be taken care by the government  "Government should take initiative in allotting houses or sites to the families of those heroes and martyrs who have become disabled or lost their lives while fighting for their country," he said.

Home Minister V S Acharya said that the proposed 'War memorial' will come into existence shortly and government is keen on constructing a memorial park for those who laid their lives for the motherland.

Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) which sponsored the programme and has taken the branding rights at the cost of Rs 12 lakh which includes 540 seconds of BDA commercial during the repeat telecast of the programme on DD Chandana. BBMP has contributed Rs 50,000 for each of the martyrs family and Rs 25,000 for war heroes who have injured during the battle.
