Restrictions imposed in Srinagar, Geelani aide arrested

Police said Sumji, who was one of three members who had given strike calls and issued calendars asking people to follow them, was taken into custody in a downtown locality on the basis of information provided by local police. He was immediately whisked away to an unknown destination for questioning.

Police said he was likely to be booked under Public Safety Act and shifted outside the Valley.
The other people behind the issuing of calendars in the Valley on behalf of Geelani's Hurriyat were Masarat Alam and Saifullah, they said.

Police said restrictions were put in parts of downtown city, Batmaloo and Maisuma in the city and some areas of Pulwama in south Kashmir after some people attempted to enforce a strike and stage protest on the death of a youth who was injured in police firing on August three
