Tribute to Sandalwood

Cinematographer J G Krisha has now begun direction as well, with Italakadi. The storyline is indeed interesting with the film focusing on the lives of the workers and technicians of the film industry. Italakadi will have a 100-member strong cast, with six heroes doing guest roles.So what is Italakadi? “Whenever a heavy object has to be moved or pushed we say Italakadi Aysa. Similarly, in this field too, one requires a Godfather for that necessary push. I thought this title would be appropriate,” says Krishna, who is also producing the film along with actor Bullet Prakash.

Prakash will essay an important role in the film. Rangayana Raghu plays a director and Prakash, an assistant director. Actress Neettoo also plays another important role but, is without a hero! But, Ravichandran is the hero of her dreams. With this, she confirmed the Crazy Star’s participation in the film.

“Italakadi is being made as a contribution to the industry completing its platinum
jubilee, by main actors and co-artistes,” says Prakash, who made it clear that several of them have agreed to be a part of the film which is a ‘serious comedy’ (coined by J G Krishna). Raghu explained some more, “The film is a mirror to our lives, showcasing the highs and lows.” Raghu is a director who is fascinated by cinema but is not ready to compromise. Sadhu Kokila, who has composed a tune for a song on Shivarajkumar already, plays a manipulative director who swindles the producer.
