Superintendent of Prison Lingaraju told Deccan Herald that one prisoner was hospitalised on Saturday, taking the total number of convicts hospitalised due to hunger strike to 15. District hospital sources said that the space available for convicts to accommodate in the hospital was inadequate as it has space for only 10 patients including three female convicts. Hospital authorities reportedly sent back the prisoners brought to the hospital on Friday and Saturday after heated arguments with the Jail authorities, sources said and added that some of the convicts were being treated at the jail premises.
