Train service extended to Mangalore

Speaking on the occasion, he said the people of the region are demanding the running of tri-weekly Mangalore-Bangalore day train and tri-weekly Mumbai-Karwar Superfast Express on daily basis. Additional coaches are getting ready and both the trains will be made day trains in future.

There will be no unmanned level-crossing in the country within the next five years. There are 17,000 unmanned level-crossings in the country. Unmanned level-crossing will either have railway overbridge or railway underbridge to safeguard the lives of the people who cross it. Safety is the first priority of the Railways, he added. The work on Shravanabelagola-Hassan railway line will be taken on a priority basis, he said.
