Indo-German film festival from Aug 20

  Goethe-Institute/ Max Muller Bhavan has organised the festival in association with Suchitra Film Society and Asian Film Foundation.

The festival will be inaugurated on August 20 at 6 pm followed by the premiere screening of ‘Riding the Stallion of a Dream’ (‘Kanasembo kudureyaneri’ in Kannada), directed by Girish Kasaravalli. The films will be screened at the Lavanya Theatre at Ulsoor from August 20 to 26.

Some of the popular German films such as ‘A Year Ago In Winter’, ‘Whiskey with Vodka’, and ‘Soul Kitchen’ will be screened along with Indian films such as ‘Kanchivaram’, ‘Bioscope’, ‘Harishchandra’s Factory’ and many more.

The children’s section will feature ‘Hands off Mississippi’ and ‘Hen in a Boat’ from German films and from Indian films ‘Sparrows and Foto’ will be screened.

Post-screening interactions with the directors of some of the films and a special talk by Abhaya Simha, the director of ‘Gubbacchigalu’ (Sparrows) will be conducted.

Delegate passes to the festival can be obtained from Goethe-institute/ Max Muller Bhavan on CMH Road and Suchitra Film Society. Passes will be issued from Monday which will be valid for the entire festival. For online information log on to www.goethe.de/film-week.
