'Drop plans to acquire land'

Addressing media in the city on Wednesday, Convener, ACICM, M Lakshmana informed that the authorities concerned have identified 3,488 acres of land from nine villages in Hunsur taluk and 4,689 acres from 13 villages in H D Kote taluk. The villages in Hunsur taluk includes; Manuganahalli, Hullenahalli, Dallalu, Handanahalli, Ankanahalli, Doddabeechanahalli, Chikkabeechanahalli, Haradanahalli and Shankahalli. In H D Kote taluk; Thotahalli, Kottegala, Gangadahalli, Alanahalli, Muddaianahundi, Pura, Ankanahlli, Masanakuppe, Mallahalli, Halladamanuganahalli, Kattehundi, Gollanabeedu and J B Sargur. He claimed that the lands are fertile and it is evident with the fact that underground water is available at 100 feet below the surface. He said that the KIADB has already issued notification to acquire 995 acres land in Hallada Manuganahalli and the same land is intended to be given for a MLA’s kin to start a resort. The KIADB already has 5,000 acres of land in its possession and 2,200 industries are established on the same. Of them 40 per cent of the industries are sick and 20 per cent have shut doors owing to lack of basic facilities. The condition of the remaining 40 per cent of industries too is pathetic as they are functioning amid great difficulties. The Government has to assure power and water connections to them at the earliest.

Lakshmana also demanded KIADB to allot 200 acres of land in its possession in Mysore district to 300 applicants, who have been waiting to start new ventures since several years.
