Married woman kills self
Durdanna (23), wife of Ashraf reportedly committed suicide by consuming sleeping pills at her father’s Chamarajpet residence on Wednesday night.
She was married to Ashraf three years ago and was staying in Mumbai. But recently she had come to stay with her parents due to alleged dowry harassment, the police said. Her father Masood Alam has lodged dowry harassment complaint against Ashraf, the police said.
3 held for kidnapping
The City police have arrested three persons in connection with the kidnapping of a man. Narasimhamurthy (21), Ravi Chandra (24), both hailing from Talaghattapura, and Nagaraj (22) of Kanakapura Main Road had reportedly kidnapped Raghuram Reddy last Sunday. Later, they demanded Rs 10,000 for his release from his son , police said.
On a complaint lodged by Reddy’s wife Gowramma, the Madivala police arrested the suspects and rescued Raghuram Reddy.
