Sources in the police department said officials from the IB will intensify the interrogation of Madani. The State investigation team, which has taken him to Lakkere estate at Mahadepura in Kodagu district is said to have conducted an identification parade.

However, objecting to the State Government’s action, the counsel for Madani said the State police should have at least kept the promise made to the Court considering his health grounds.

“His health condition is bad. He has bleeding in the nose and doctors have suggested an MRI scan,” said one of the counsels for Madani, on condition of anonymity.
Confirming that Madani has been taken to Kodagu, he said police had promised to take him in an ambulance, if at all he was supposed to be taken out of City. He also said that Madani will be brought back to the City on Saturday night.

Brought to Madikeri

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Abdul Nasser Madani who was arrested by the police in connection with the Bangalore bomb blast was brought to Kodagu on Saturday.

He was taken to Hosathota for interrogation with the stay of Bangalore bomb blast main accused Nazeer in a rented house there.

Madani was taken to Hosathota at 5.30 pm and investigation was carried out in the car. Madani did not get down from the car, making it difficult for photographers who were waiting to click him. Police also inspected the ginger estate of Nazeer at Lakkeri Paisari.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials had brought Madani in the morning and put him in a home-stay accommodation in order to escape the media scrutiny. Security in Kodagu district was tightened in the backdrop of Madani’s presence.

“We have got a clue by interogating Madani. The health condition of Madani is stable and he is co-operating in the investigation,” CCB DCP Siddaramappa said.
