'Mini Vidhana Soudha in Bantwal'

Speaking after inaugurating various development works at the Sri Dharmastala Manjunatheshwara Kalyana Mantapa at Bantwal on Monday, Yeddyurappa promised that the government will release required funds for the construction of Mini Vidhana Soudha in Bantwal town. The work should be completed within 18 months, he added.

New police sub division
The CM said that a new police sub division will be formed in Bantwal soon. There is a demand for new sub division since the jurisdiction of Puttur sub division is relatively large. The new sub division will be formed after separating Belthangadi and Bantwal taluks from Puttur sub division, he added.

Rs 5 cr for foot bridge
Yeddyurappa said that the government will sanction Rs 5 crore to construct foot bridges in rural areas in the district.
The government had already distributed Rs 5 crore each for the construction of foot bridges in Udupi and Uttar Kannada districts. The scheme will be extended to Dakshina Kannada district too, he assured.
Talking about drinking water problem in Bantwal taluk, the CM said that he will ask the district administration to prepare a master plan to construct check dams across rivers. The Government will release funds soon after the proposals were sent, he added.

‘Go for organic farming’
Yeddyurappa said that a novel programme to promote organic farming will be launched in the State soon.
Awarness programmes will be organised in experienced organic farmers’ houses. Organic farming methods will be shared among other farmers during the day-long programme, he said adding that the programme will be inaugurated in Bidar by him.
Yeddyurappa inaugurated the office of the Bantwal Urban Development Authority, new Fire Station, MESCOM Bantwal division and a Trauma Care Centre in Bantwal on the occasion.

Rs 10 lakh assured
The CM assured Rs 10 lakh for the Vamadapadavu Health Centre.
Speaking after inaugurating the new building of the Vamadapadavu Health Centre, Yeddyurappa said that the hospital will be considered as model in the State and other government hospitals will also be asked to replicate the infrastructure developed in Vamadapadavu, he added.
Home Minister Dr V S Acharya, District-in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar, Coastal Development Authority Chairman B Nagaraj Shetty, MLAs B Ramanath Rai, N Yogish Bhat, MLCs Capt Ganesh Karnik, Kota Srinivas Poojari, Zilla Panchayat President Santhosh Kumar Bhandary, IGP Gopal B Hosur and others were present.
