Growl for Windows is a Windows-compatible version of Growl, a notification system for Mac OS X. With a subtle notification Growl can can let you know when things happen, like, completion of downloads, whom you missed out online while you were away, arrival of emails, and much more.  Apart from letting you know when things happen, Growl also provides you with a control to choose how you need to be notified and what action (if any) you might want to take in response to the notifications.
