'Strip Sriramulu of Health portfolio'

Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah told reporters here on Monday: “Sriramulu has totally failed in taking steps to contain the spread of the diseases like dengue, chikungunya and Influenza A (H1N1) in the State. He should be divested of the Health portfolio and be given a light portfolio like Small Savings.”

Alleging that the government hospitals were ill-equipped, he demanded the State government make arrangement to treat the poor patients in the government hospitals.

He accused Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa of violating the model code of conduct by promising reservation under 2A category for Adi-Banajiga community during the run-up to the Gulbarga and Kaddur bypolls. The Congress is examining the possibility of filing a complaint with the Election Commission, he added.
