Women came out in large numbers to greet Rahul, when he arrived at Isauli village late on Wednesday. The Congress leader, currently on a three-day visit to his Lok Sabha constituency, assured them that he would do his best to develop the area.

He also launched a 3G services at Musafirkhana and Gauriganj blocks in the constituency. Speaking on the occasion, Rahul said that his endeavour was to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. Rahul also participated in an ‘iftar’ party organised at Jagadishpur in the evening.

Rahul also inspected several developmental projects in his constituency on Thursday to have a first hand assessment and met a cross-section of the electorate, Congress sources here said. Rahul, according to party sources, told the people that Mayawati government was not serious in the development of Amethi and was not utilising the central funds properly.
