JOIN USPolice said the moped rider, Rajesh (30), a resident of Basapura, died on the spot while his pillion Gunashekar suffered major injuries after a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction rammed into their two-wheeler.
Motorcycle rider Sujith, an Infosys employee, is also injured and is being treated at a private hospital.
NRI mugged
An NRI was mugged near HRBR Layout 1st Block and a hand bag containing currencies from various countries, expensive diamond ring and a few debit and credit cards were snatched from her.
Banaswadi police said the NRI got down from an autorickshaw and was on her way to her sister’s house on Friday night when some culprits came from behind and attacked her. The loss is estimated to be around Rs 8 lakh.
Chain snatched
A woman lost her gold chain when she stepped out of her house to chase away barking dogs in Yelahanka New Town locality early Saturday morning.
According to the complainant, Ganga, a resident of B-Sector, stated that her sleep was disturbed due to the dogs barking continuously and she came out to chase them away, when a youth snatched away her gold chain.
