Ramesh Mastayya Naik (35) was manufacturing the explosives to scare away the pigs from destroying the crops in the field when the incident occurred.
When the explosives triggered off accidentally, Karthik Ramesh Naik (10), who was assisting his father, sustained injuries on the neck and succumbed immediately.

Mastayya Naik, who sustained grievous injuries, has been shifted to a hospital in Kundapur.
DySP Vedamurty, CPI Gurumattur, and SI Thimmappa Naika visited the spot.
A case has been registered in the rural police station.
