'Kodagu ready to face monsoon'


To face any eventuality, district administration has provided walkie talkie, camera to 16 Revenue Inspectors under Disaster Management Act. Under the Act, DC has the power to deploy any officer.

Accordingly, control rooms have been set up in all the taluks. Every day, three officials are deployed to the control rooms, said Divisional Officer Akrampasha.

He said three officials will work in three shifts, viz., 8 am to 2 pm, 2 pm to 8 pm and 8 pm to 8 am.

Those who work in night shift will be given one day leave. The control rooms have been functioning for the last 15 days. The information on natural disasters in the district will be available in the control room.

At 8.30 am, they will collect details of rainfall from 16 hoblis. Everyday we also collect the details of the works of Tahsildar, Deputy Tahsildar, Town Panchayat officer and Revenue Inspectors. We have also developed co-ordination with the fire service stations and police stations.

District administration is also planning to provide walkie talkie to government hospitals and District Health Officer (DHO).

Mysore district has already implemented ths system on the direction of Regional Commissioner.
