The Association General Secretary Suresh said “It is absolutely necessary to bring all the essential drugs under the Act so as to make them more accessible to people.”
The association also called for stringent laws in punishing both manufacturers and distributors of spurious drugs, pointing out that it was a criminal offense and anybody indulging in this must be spared.
Stressing on the fact that prices of all kinds of medicine were rising consistently, the association sought to abolish excise duty on all medicines.
