The SJRC Women’s college was felicitated for winning first prize in the August 15 parade by DGP (Fire and Emergency Services) Jija Madhavan Hari Singh. Civil defence platoons of Kuwaithulla PU College and SJRC Men’s College, Mahadevapura Fire Station Platoon and Home Guards of Bangalore Rural district, who also participated in the Independence Day parade were felicitated.
The programme was organised with an aim to motivate the general public to be a part of the civil defence.
The Bangalore Civil Defence has a target to enroll 80,000 volunteers and close to 300 volunteers participated in this function.
