Businessman injured in firing

The victim was identified as Subba Reddy (48), a resident of Ashwathnagar. He runs a grocery shop. He was immediately rushed to Raj Mahal Vilas Hospital in Sanjaynagar, where doctors conducted a surgery on him. He is out of danger.

According to sources, Siddalinga Swamy, a constable attached to Special Squad of DCP (East) was tipped off that two persons wanted in some cases were moving near the bus stop. Swamy rushed to the spot and noticed Anil Kumar Singh, who was wanted in a dozen criminal cases and his associate standing near the bus stop. When Swamy tried to arrest Singh, the duo attacked him.

Reddy, who was returning home after closing his shop, rushed to Swamy’s rescue. One of the suspects opened fire at Reddy, who was injured on his right knee. Swamy managed to arrest one of the suspects.
