Face of reality

Madhura Naik, who has been seen on TV in numerous daily soaps, is currently participating in an action reality show and is doing great for herself especially being paired opposite Armaan Ibrahim, who is also a national racing champion just like her. But a little birdie tells us that she is now also being considered to be part of Bigg Boss 4 and we wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that TV actress Sara Khan is also going to be an inmate.

We are sure a lot of people remember the controversy and fight between Madhura and Sara on the sets of Bidaai sometime back, over a reported link-up of Madhura with Sara’s beau Ali.

Well let’s wait and watch what surprises would be sprung on us if these two ladies are put together face to face and that too, in the same house for an umpteen number of days.

Stopping at nothing

There’s no problem too big it can’t be solved by a cup of bush tea,” feels Precious Ramotswe, Botswana’s first and only female detective. When you have an attitude like that, there’s not much that can stop you!

For a dose of women power, tune in to the HBO Original Series The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency, based on the international bestselling novels by Alexander McCall Smith. This seven-episode comedy-drama series premieres on September 11 at 9.45 am on HBO, with the new episodes airing every Saturday at 10.45 am.

The series focuses on the life and times of Precious Ramotswe, owner of The No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. She opens shop in Gaborone and is immediately inundated with cases such as tracking down a missing husband, uncovering a con man, following an errant daughter and tracking a missing 11-year-old boy who may have been taken by witch doctors!

Aided by her highly efficient yet rather peculiar secretary Grace Makutsi, Precious investigates cases, helps people solve problems in their lives, and begins a special friendship with the highly respectable owner of a garage.

The series is the first major film or television production to be undertaken in Botswana. It stars Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter, Jill Scott, as the heroine
Precious Ramotswe. Also starring in The No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency are Anika Noni Rose as Grace Makutsi, and Lucian Msamati as Precious Ramotswe’s devoted suitor, JLB Matekoni. Guest stars in the pilot include David Oyelowo, Idris Elba, Colin Salmon and John Kani.
