Two computers stolen from Satish Dhawan Space Centre

"The two computers were kept inside a new building yet to be commissioned. They were not installed and did not contain any data. The loss was noticed on Monday. Perhaps the computers were stolen on Sunday," Sriharikota Publicity and Publications Officer C. Ravindranath told IANS.

According to him, the new facility is to be used for meteorological purposes.
The rocket launch centre in Sriharikota, about 80 km from here, is highly guarded and its entry and exit gates heavily manned. The loss of computers has shocked the establishment here as two rocket launches are scheduled by the end of this year.
