DH PhotoChief Justice J S Khehar who attended a discussion organised by the Karnataka chapter of the Indian Federation of Women Lawyers was at his wittiest, amusing his audiences, encouraging them, promising them amenities and at the same time, never getting cornered.

On being asked whether he found the Bench or the Bar more gratifying, the Chief Justice replied that he had found both amazing and each one was far better than the other.
He exhorted the advocates to devote time for mediation and conciliation programmes aid the poor in seeking legal solutions.

Match with the change

On the role of judiciary in a fast changing world, he replied “Today is not a world where you reach a point and then wait. It is important to see the pace and adjust according to it. The pace of life should be matched with the pace of the world.”

The Chief Justice also promised better use of technology to streamline the administration process and also to upload judgements online to make them available faster to people.
Better facilities are on the anvil for women lawyers not only in Bangalore, but also at Dharwad with the Chief Justice promising rooms and other amenities.
