Yeddyurappa leaves for Delhi to seek nod on cabinet expansion

Last Updated 19 September 2010, 13:50 IST

Yeddyurappa, who held discussions with a BJP core committee meeting here since yesterday, said transparency will be maintained on the expansion.
He is accompanied by state BJP President K S Eshwarappa.

Yeddyurappa, who has been mulling over cabinet expansion to fillup three vacancies, had encountered some snags at the state level following opposition to some of the names in the probables list. He is said to be keen on re-inducting Shobha Karandlaje and V Somanna, considered to be his confidants.

However, a section of the partymen are opposed to their return to the ministry, particularly that of Somanna, who crossed over to BJP from Congress.

Upto four ministers were expected to face the axe and three aspirants were expected come on board following the reshuffle in the 28 month-old ministry.

Party sources said the cabinet expansion was likely to take place this week.
