Addressing a press meet, he said two tenders were invited for 10 developmental works in Jeppinamogaru ward in 2008-09. However, the contractor has not yet started the work. The works are being carried out in those wards which are represented by BJP corporators. Even in Velencia ward, tenders were invited to undertake developmental works one year ago. But the work is yet to commence,” he added.

He said Congress Corporator J Nagendra Kumar had requested the authorities to remove silt from an open drainage in his ward. However, the request was not heard.
Assistant Executive Engineer K S Linge Gowda neither co-operates with the corporators nor attends the Council meeting, he alleged.

D’Souza said a dustbin in Gorigudda near Kittel Memorial High School has been overflowing for the past several days.

In spite of complaining to the health officials, no action has been taken so far. In fact, one of the Health Inspector Karunakara had written a complaint to MCC Commissioner that the contractor has failed to carry out cleanliness in several wards. So an action must be initiated against the contractor.

The ruling party has not yet announced its clear stand on SAS. However, it is forcibly collecting SAS tax from the public.
