KIMS director gets show cause notice

Murthy said: “Through the media, we have learnt that a party was conducted which is unbecoming of doctors. How can such a thing happen when the State was mourning Pandit Gavai? The director has to give a reply within 48 hours. The Chief Minister, soon after seeing the clippings in TV channels, called me to get details on the incident.”

When asked Murthy said the Government had sanctioned Rs 25 lakh for the golden jubilee celebrations of KIMS.

“The director said the party was conducted in a hotel and the members of the alumni association had organised for the liquor. But, the doctors had displayed a banner of the college at the venue where the party was held. They cancelled the celebrations but participated in the party. How do we know whether the government’s money was spent only on food and not on liquor?” he said.
