Siddaramaiah launches tirade against BJP government

Leader of the Opposition begins State-wide tour from Cballapur

  Addressing the media persons here on Tuesday after taking part in the party workers meet, he said, for the first time party’s tour is commenced from Kolar-Chikkaballapur districts.

Even though Chikkaballapur and Ramanagar districts were carved out at the same time, Ramanagar is given more prominence than Chikkaballapur , former chief minister Kumaraswamy has neglected Chikkaballapur, he alleged.

Barrage of allegations

Hurling barrage of allegations against the State government, he said BJP government has plunged the State into bankruptcy. The government is unable to fund any development works.

He alleged that welfare of the people is not upto the expected mark. The government has released Rs 1 crore as against Rs 9 crore for the implementation of drought relief schemes in the district  and added that the government has released only Rs 1 lakh instead of Rs 2 lakh for the implementation of Ganga Kalayana Scheme in every taluk, he alleged.

Coming down heavily over the government’s failure in undertaking welfare programmes he said, works of watershed development are being slowed due to shortage of funds. The government has failed to disburse BPL cards for the eligible  beneficiaries. Funds are not released for the drinking water projects.

He alleged that the government has failed in providing basic amenities. 
Shidlaghatta legislator V Muniyappa, Chintamani legislator Dr Sudhakar, leaders V R Sudarshan, Perikal Muniyappa, Bissegowda, M Anjinappa, H V Chikkagarigowda, Addagal Sridhar and others were present.
