He was speaking to the media representatives at the helipad at Virajpet PU college, here on Tuesday, before leaving for the Orange County at Siddhapur. He is on a five-day visit to Kodagu along with his family.

“I read in a news paper at New Delhi this morning that I would be occupying the BJP national president’s post once again. But there are no such possibilities. I am committed to effectively execute the responsible role of the Opposition leader, that is thrust upon me,” he said.

Stable government

Replying to a query about Congress claiming that people have voted for stable government, he replied, “I have already said that I bow to people’s verdict.  In the 15th Lok Sabha election results only Congress and BJP have registered 3 digit win. Even the CPM, which was strong before the elections had to be content  itself with 16 seats. The CPM’s strength has also declined. Hence, we have accepted people’s pro-Congress verdict,” he said.

When asked about the political developments in the country and the recent differences in the BJP, he humbly appealed “not to ask any questions pertaining to politics.”
When a reporter asked a question about his autobiography, Advani looked at it and smiled but kept silent.

When asked about his programme for five days in Kodagu, he said, “I am at this beautiful place Kodagu along with my family to  relax. After a long time I have made some time from politics to spend with my family.  I have decided to read, walk, tour and relax.”

“I had come to Kodagu ten years ago for a campaign. Kodagu is like the heart of Karnataka and is beautiful. I am happy to experience the nature,” he described.
He arrived from Bangalore in a helicopter along with his wife Kamala, son Jayanth and daughter-in-law Vrutika.

He was welcomed by Assembly Deputy Speaker K G Bopaiah, legislators M P Appacchuranjan, S G Medappa, BJP district president Sunil Subramani and other leaders. Advani and his family rested at the sports stadium near the helipad for a while before leaving to the Orange County.
