IIM K launches fourth edition of its  entrepreneurship contest

IIM Kozhikode has launched ‘White Knight - the Open Entrepreneurship Competition’.
This is the fourth edition of its national-level entrepreneur-ship competition as part of its annual international management festival called ‘Backwaters’. The competition will provide a platform for student to present their ideas for profitable and scalable businesses to make their dreams a reality. The competition will invite ideas not only from B-School students but also from working professionals. This year’s White Knight has been launched on a scale bigger than the last edition.

India Innovation network is acting as Advisor & Mentor for the event while TiE Kerala is the Knowledge Partner.

Ideas are invited for all categories and industries. White Knight has a special prize in the Best Social Venture category.

Prizes will be given to other special categories like IT products and women entrepreneurs.

Those interested may submit their ideas by  September 25, 2010.

Entries will be evaluated by a panel of  venture capitalists, industry leaders, and IIM-K faculty members.

Training programme in trading

Trading Forex will be conducting a three-day seminar on ‘Trading Opportunities’ at Royal Comforts, 4th Block Jayanagar, Bangalore on September 29, 30 and October 1, 2010. The company is also organising a two-day training programme on ‘How to be a successful trader’ on  October 2 and 3, 2010. Topics to be covered at the seminar include knowledge of the currency market and its dynamics, fundamental analysis, technical analysis, different trading sessions and time frames, money management, and demo trading. ‘Classmate Ideas for India Challenge’

As part of ITC’s centenary initiative, its education & stationery products brand, Classmate, has launched a programme called ‘Classmate Ideas for India Challenge’. This nation-wide programme provides a platform for youngsters to express their innovative ideas on how to solve challenges that the country faces. The contest hopes to reach out to 25 lakh students across 30 cities, 500 schools and 200 colleges. With programme partners like CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development, WWF-India, Tony Blair Faith Foundation, Janaagraha, Akshaya Patra Foundation,it will provide finalists with an internship, besides cash prizes and other rewards. The top five winners will be presented with an opportunity to participate in a one-week long international study tour.  The competition is for youngsters in the age group of 14 and 21. Short-term courses in aviation

Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training has launched four short-term, part-time courses for graduates. There are two courses for graduates or those in the final year of graduation: Certificate course in Airport Ground Service (3 months) and Certificate course in Aviation & Hospitality Services (4 months).
