Understanding our planet

The Faces Of Earth is an ultimate exploration of the earth’s dynamic systems and our connection to them.

The planet we live on is a complex system of elements, processes and interactions that, over the vast expanses of geologic time, have produced the world we know today.

The key to understanding earth is that our planet has not always been like it is today, nor will it remain so in future; in fact the only constant thing on earth is change.

From the Pacific Northwest to the shores of the Atlantic seaboard, the breadth and scope of America is like no other place on earth.

The land we see today was shaped over hundreds of millions of years ago. Guided by geoscientists, and with the aid of dramatic special effects and animations, Discovery Science unravels the mysteries of continent-building and the almost unimaginable span of geologic time. The Faces Of Earth airs on September 23 at 9.30 pm.
