Ullal darga chief's plea for peace

Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, he said: “We have seen violence in the name of Babri masjid row in the past. It is our right to respect the democratic values enshrined in the Constitution.”  He said: “The verdict will have to be in favour of one religion. No matter which religion it favours, everyone should respect and accept the verdict as it is,” and added that any ‘vijayothsava’ should not be observed following the verdict so as to maintain peace in the region.

Monu said that a special training for Haj pilgrims of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Kodagu districts will be held on October 3 at Ullal Seyyid Madani Darga at 10.30 am.

The training camp will be held under the guidance of Tajul Ulema Seyyid Abdul Rahiman Al Bukhari. The inaugural programme will be attended by District-in-Charge Minister Krishna Palemar, MLA U T Khader, State Haj Committee member Salim Ambagilu and others.

Applications invited
He said applications have been invited by the Hazrath Seyyid Madani Arabic Trust for admission to Davva college for those who have passed seventh standard.
 The Trust will bear the expenses of the studies.
