Police said, Dharmashetty (65) and his son Mahesh (45) of Vajamangala in Mysore taluk may have accidentally slipped into the canal while performing Ganga puja. Mahesh is a priest at Shani temple at Vajamangala and according to the tradition, the family was performing Ganga puja every year after the Gowri festival.
The body of Mahesh was found near Yandalli on Saturday, five km away from the spot where he had drowned. The police are still searching for the body of Dharmashetty.
