Corporation Bank celebrates 114th Foundation Day

Corporation Bank observed its 114th Foundation Day on Tuesday.

The bank started operating on March 12, 1906, in Udupi under the leadership of Khan Bahadur Haji Abdullah Haji Kasim Saheb Bahadur with a first day business of Rs 38, 13 Annas and two Paisa.

On the occasion of its Foundation Day, the bank organised a function at Dr TMA Pai Convention Centre. The function began with the Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) P V Bharathi offering floral tributes to the Founder President Khan Bahadur Haji Abdullah Haji Kasim Saheb Bahadur.

Gopal Murli Bhagat and Birupaksha Mishra, executive directors, other directors on the Board of the Bank, were also present on the occasion.

Bharathi launched Corp Ease-the mobile banking application in 10 regional languages on the occasion.

Besides the launch, the bank, as a part of its CSR activities, extended financial support to Shivamogga Institute of Medical Sciences towards three haemodialysis machines.

Earlier in the day, members of staff participated in a walkathon from the bank’s Centenary Library to the head office articulating the bank’s motto, “Prosperity for All”.

The formal programme was followed by a musical evening by renowned singer Ajay Warrier and team. The singers enthralled the listeners with their performance which gripped the audience. The dance by the team enthralled the audience.

The Foundation Day celebrations and functions were also organised by the bank at various centres across the country. To commemorate the 114th Foundation Day, 114 CSR activities were undertaken by the bank across the country.
