The state convention of CPI(ML) will be held at Ambedkar Bhavan in Chikkamagaluru on August 4,5 and 6, said state secretary B Rudraiah.

Addressing reporters here on Wednesday, he said that CPI(ML) general secretary K N Ramachandran will inaugurate the meet at 2.30 pm on August 4. Polit Bureau members P J James and Manasaiah will take part.

Resolutions will be passed after holding elaborate discussions on the issues haunting the farming, labour, education and job sectors. Based on these issues, the party will take out a people’s movement in the days to come, he said.

Rudraiah further said that the national convention of the party would be held in Bengaluru from November 27 to December 2. The state convention would be a prelude to the national convention.

CPI(ML) state secretary B Rudraiah further said that the economy of the nation has seen a low, due to the neo-liberal economic policies of the Narendra Modi led NDA government in the Centre.

The prime minister has been working as an agent of capitalists and corporate tycoons. Instead of implementing the recommendations of Dr Swaminathan committee, he is implementing policies which favour landlords, said Rudraiah.

The condition of the state government is no better. The chief minister, who has the responsibility of providing solutions to the problems of people, has been acting as a helpless person. JD(S), BJP and Congress have been equally responsible for the opportunistic politics. Both the Central and the state government has become anti-people, he added.

CPI(ML) leaders Jagadish, Vijay Handi, Krishna, Paramesh, Narayana and Basavaraj were present.
