Dattamala Abhiyana from Dec 12 to 22

The VHP and Bajrang Dal will organise Dattamala Abhiyana and Datta Jayanti from December 12 to 22, said Bajrang Dal Pranta co cordinator Raghu Sakleshpura.

Addressing reporters here on Monday, he said that the devotees will wear Dattamala on December 12. Anasooya puja will be held on December 20. A Shobhayatra will be taken out in Chikkamagaluru on December 21 and Datta Jayanti will be held on December 22. Devotees from different parts of the state will have Darshana of Dattapaduke on December 22.

He appealed to the district administration to repair the roads, supply drinking water to the devotees and other basic facilities at Datta Peetha.

He said, "There are plans to carry out Sudharma Datta Rathayatre in the district to demand the government to appoint a Hindu priest at Datta Peetha. The Rathayatre is likely to be flagged off on December 12. We have submitted a report to the police seeking permission for the same."
