SBI PO 2019: Here's how you can apply at sbi.co.in

State-owned lender State Bank of India (SBI) has opened up its applications for the post of Probationary Officers for the year 2019. The applications opened on April 2 and will close on April 22. Here's how you can apply, what is the eligibility criteria and the way the exam is modelled:

Eligibility:

The SBI PO 2019 exam is open to all residents of India, and the following qualifications apply:

1. Candidate should be a graduate from any university recognised by the Government of India or be in the final year/semester of graduation subject to the condition that, if called for an interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before eligibility date.

2. Candidate should be between 21 and 30 years at the time of application. Some categories get various age relaxations as folllows:

SC/ST: 5 years

OBC: 3 years (non-creamy layer)

PWD: 10/13/15 years (General category/OBC/SC/ST respectively)

Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment: 5 years

Persons Ordinarily domiciled of the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989: 5 years

How to apply:

1. Visit the SBI careers page or go here and select the 'Probationary Officers' option

2. Register on the portal and fill in your details and fill out the form that follows. Keep a scanned copy of your photograph to upload into the form.

3. In the event you cannot fill in the data in one go, you can save the data. Doing so will generate a provisional registration number and password, which can be used to access the form again and continue where you left off.

3. Once you have filled the form, pay the requisite fees (Rs 100 for SC/ST/PWD, Rs 600 for General and OBC) through debit/credit card or internet banking and save/print the receipt that you get upon completion of the process.

Number of chances given:

General: 4

General (PWD): 7

OBC/OBC (PWD): 7

SC/SC(PWD)/ ST/ ST (PWD): No restriction

Selection procedure:

The selection procedure occurs in four phases: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, Group Discussion & Interview and Final Selection.

The Preliminary Exam is graded for a maximum of 100 marks, the Main Exam is graded for a maximum of 200 and 50 for the Objective and Descriptive tests and the GD & Interview is graded for a maximum of 50.

Note that Only the marks obtained in Main Examination, both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GD & Interview for the final merit list. Candidates have to pass both the main exam and interview separately to be considered.

Compensation:

If selected, the starting basic pay is Rs.27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I.

The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time.

The total compensation per annum would be a minimum of Rs. 7.55 lacs and a maximum of Rs. 12.93 lacs depending on the place of posting and other factors.
