In Pics | How a glacial burst triggered the Uttarakhand floods

Floods swept parts of cental Uttarakhand's Chamoli district after a portion of the Nanda Devi glacier burst, affecting the Dhauli Ganga, Rishi Ganga, and Alaknanda rivers. The gushing water has washed away two hydropower stations and also blocked the Tapovan tunnel, where workers have been trapped. While 125 are feared dead, 15 people have been rescued so far by the army and ITBP teams. Here's a look at how the Uttarakhand floods wreaked havoc in the Chamoli district.
