Maturamritham — The Nectar of Motherhood, ayurvedic wellness centre for women, opens in Bengaluru

Ayurvedamritham Health Centre marked International Women’s Day 2026 with the launch of ‘Maturamritham - The Nectar of Motherhood’, a pioneering ayurvedic wellness programme designed exclusively for women at every stage of life.

The landmark event, held on Sunday March 8, 2026, drew a heartfelt response from women across Bengaluru, with over 50 women attending the day-long celebrations themed ‘Sthree Swasthya Amritotsava — A celebration of women’s health and wholeness’ at the centre’s Judicial Layout facility in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

. Free ayurveda medical camp

The morning session featured a free ayurveda medical camp conducted in association with Himalaya Wellness, which had an enthusiastic turnout of women eager to access preventive healthcare services.

Services provided free of cost to over 50 women at the camp:

· Personalised ayurveda consultation

· Naadi Pareeksha (pulse-based evaluation of health)

· Bone mineral density (BMD) test

· Random blood sugar test

· Ayurvedic medicines prescribed for two weeks

“The response was deeply encouraging”, says Dr T K Girija Kumari, Medical Director, Ayurvedamritham Health Centre. “Women from all walks of life - homemakers, working professionals, senior citizens - came forward to prioritise their health. Many had never undergone a BMD test before, and several cases of early-stage osteoporosis and pre-diabetic conditions were identified for timely intervention. This is precisely why preventive healthcare matters”.

Himalaya Wellness also offered its range of wellness products at special discounted prices, further extending the spirit of accessible healthcare to all.

Maturamritham: New era in women’s wellness

The highlight of the event was the official launch of ‘Maturamritham — The Nectar of Motherhood’, a comprehensive three-pillar programme addressing women’s health needs across all life stages.

Three pillars of Maturamritham:

Shakti

The focus of Shakti is post-natal care and renewal. The target group for this programme is women who have just had a child.

Saukhyam

The focus of Saukhyam is hormonal balance and vitality. The target group of this programme is women between the age 20 and 45 years.

Sampurna

The focus of Sampurna is graceful ageing and longevity. The target group of this programme is women who are over 45 years of age.

. Speaking on the Maturamritham programme, Prof Dr G G Gangadharan, Founder, Ayurvedamritham Health Centre, said, “This is not just another programme - it is a promise. It promises that every woman, at every stage in her life, will find specialised, compassionate care rooted in the timeless wisdom of ayurveda. Today marks the beginning of that journey”.

The programme is led by Dr T K Girija Kumari, a veteran clinician with over three decades of experience in ayurvedic medicine, including specialised expertise in Stree Roga (women’s ailments) and Prasuti Tantra (obstetrics and gynaecology).

Women achievers felicitated

Two groups of remarkable women were honoured on the occasion.

The first group comprised 10 achievers from diverse fields such as healthcare, education, social work, entrepreneurship, arts and community service. They were felicitated for their outstanding contributions to society. Each awardee was recognised for the commitment to making a positive impact in their community and beyond.

. The second group comprised 15 women Pourakarmikas from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike. In a touching gesture Ayurvedamritham Health Centre felicitated these women sanitation workers who had kept the Judicial Layout clean every day. Their dedication and commitment to keeping their zone clean is commendable. “These women wake up before sunrise and get to work so that our streets are clean when we step out each morning”, said Dr Gangadharan. “Women’s Day must include the women who serve without applause. Today, we say thank you - not just in words, but in action too”.
