‘I am planning to cut down on my screen time'

Shreyan Sujith of Bishop Cotton Boys' School tells DHiE that he wants to concentrate on academics, cut screen time and work steadily towards his ambitions.
‘I am planning to cut down on my screen time'

Much like the previous years, January is the right time for millions of people to make the same pact with themselves; this will be the year I eat better; breathe easier, and sleep longer. But over time many New Year resolutions fall by the wayside. Unknowingly people turn to different wishes. These quite often make many people who make new year resolutions, usually drop out. But not everyone! I may have done so in the past but sure in 2026, I am determined to fulfil it.

My new year resolution is to focus on my grades. As I am in seventh standard currently, where studies get very perplexing, I would start concentrating so that I can be mentally prepared to clear my Union Public Service Commission, Civil Services Examination etc.

Starting from now, I will continuously focus on studies. I am planning to cut my screen time, play time etc. Like this I could get really good grades and excel in all my school assessments. This resolution would make me a topper in the class and even very popular in the whole school. Everything could happen and help me fulfil my ambitions.

Concentrating on academics does not mean sidelining everything else. I will continue with my dedication for games like lawn tennis, cricket. My hobby of reading will always be with me to take me to greater heights through acquiring lots and lots of knowledge.

I am sure that my New Year Resolution will go ahead unharmed and undisturbed through my determination
