The Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy and the Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkuta on Friday announced a joint campaign to expand the teaching of Tulu in schools across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
The initiative aims to boost both student enrolment and the number of schools offering Tulu as a third language, the organisations said.
A delegation from the Okkuta, led by President A C Bhandari, met with Taranath Gatti Kapikad, President of the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, at the academy office to discuss actionable steps.
The proposed exercise is intended to bring together Tulu organisations from across India and abroad to chart strategies for the language’s educational expansion and cultural preservation.
