Women’s Golf League launched

180 Golf unveiled what is claimed to be India’s first-ever Women’s Golf League in Bengaluru at the Bangalore Golf Club on Monday.

The league will feature six teams and a total of 84 players, including a few Korean golfers too.

The teams are East West Elites (Owner: Rashmi Ravi Kiran), Gopalan Giants (Prabhakar C), Ramaiah Royals (Kodandaram Ramaiah), Morado Mahilas (Satyaprasad M K), Raj Infra Green Legends (Abhijna Rajeev) and Sudarshan Strikers (Srinivas J R).

The tournament will be played in three formats -- the first two rounds in stableford and the final on match play. The top four teams will contest in the final on March 27.

“This league will help in promoting women’s golf and make them compete at the highest level,” said Attavar Santosh, CEO of 180 Golf. “The vision is to make golf more accessible, enjoyable, and rewarding for players at all levels, achieving the aim of touching the sky.”
