India, my country, is the largest democracy in this world. India is known for its cultural heritage and diversity. But what is India? Who is India? The citizens of a country are what the country is. For a country to be better, the people have to be better. It is easier for me to be better than my parent, than my parent trying to be better than what they already are. I am today’s student, the future India. The better I am, the better India will be.

Our honorable PM, Shri Narendra Modi, has a vision of “Viksit Bharat @ 2047.” He has held the students and youth of our country responsible in making his vision come true. He said, “When citizens in whatever role start doing their duty, the country moves forward.” As students we too have our duties and ways to make our Bharat, the Viksit Nation.

  1. The primary duty and responsibility of a student is to learn, to get educated. When we learn and get educated, we have the power to spread the learning among the people around us who do not have the opportunity.

  2. Understanding the values and culture of our country, not only helps us to practice it, but also helps us to spread it, preserve it and pass it on. Students are the best ambassadors of a country’s value. Our behavior shows what our country is.

  3. Applying our learning and education to build a better nation should be the ultimate goal of a student. When we can make innovation and improve technology our country will truly be Atma Nirbhar.

  4. As students we have to drive and practice Swachtha Abhiyaan in our school, home, and neighbourhood. If we decide not to litter, our whole family will not litter. This way we can also safeguard the public places, tourist spots and heritage centers of our country.

  5. We must safeguard our environment. When we learn to be compassionate with the animals and birds that live around us, we make a better eco-system. Every action made by us should be to minimize pollution and damages to environment.

  6. Students are the best agents of help. We can help the senior citizens, differentially abled people and other in need. We must learn to be kind and responsible.

  7. We must know and understand what is good and bad. As students we must oath against drug and alcohol abuse. This will also minimize crimes and violence in the society.

  8. We must save water, electricity, food and money from getting wasted. Every unit saved is every unit gained.

These are a few very simple paths in which students can travel to make themselves the citizens who will build the best version of India.
