‘All is not well in the BJP’

The JD(S) will not survive in Kodagu district, said Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj Sanghatan Convener Tennira Maina.

Speaking to reporters, Maina said, “All is not well in the BJP. The party workers had rebelled against sitting MLAs K G Bopaiah and M P Appacchu Ranjan. Dejected JD(S) leaders have joined the Congress. The joining of former minister M C Nanaiah and his followers have strengthened the Congress in the district. The past Congress glory will return once again in the district,” he said.

Further, he said Congress has fielded two winning candidates in two Assembly constituencies of the district and expressed confidence that Arun Machaiah and K P Chandrakala will win the election.

He said, “Three-time MLA K G Bopaiah has failed to provide a connecting road to Igguthappa temple in the district. However, District-In Charge Minister M R Seetharam by sanctioning Rs 3 crore has enabled the work on the road to be initiated.”
