‘BJP failed to fulfill the promises’

‘BJP failed to fulfill the promises’

“The Central government that had written off Rs 11,00,000 crore loan of the rich corporates failed to waive off the loans borrowed by the poor farmers. The Centre has been following a separate policy for the rich and another for the poor and common man,” alleged Congress candidate from Kaup and former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Speaking after inaugurating the Janashirvada convention organised by the Udupi and Brahmavar Block Congress committee here on Sunday, he said, “Fraud perpetrators, billionaire jeweller Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya, have fled the country. However, all efforts are made to recover the loans borrowed by poor individuals.”

He said, “Prime Minister Modi had promised to generate 2 crore employment per year. However, in the last four years, only 8 lakh employment has been generated. Modi has cheated the youths who had voted for him. The BJP has failed to fulfill all the promises made during the previous election.”

He said “The Congress-led government in Karnataka has fulfilled a majority of the promises,” and appealed to the participants to vote for the Congress to come back to power.

District in-charge minister and Congress candidate from Udupi constituency Pramod Madhwaraj said, “If elected, I will continue to serve the people of Udupi for the next five years. Majority of the promises made by me during the last election has been fulfilled. The work on supplying water from the Varahi irrigation project has already commenced. By implementing Chantharu and Thenkanidiyooru multi-village drinking water projects, all efforts would be made to solve the water crisis in Brahmavar region.

There are 213 polling booths in Udupi assembly constituency. “If given a chance, I will hold jana samparka meeting in all the booths in the presence of officials.”
