Govt rolls out 'Arogya Karnataka'

The state government has already rolled out the universal health scheme - Arogya Karnataka - to the entire state and is streamlining the implementation, reports DHNS from Bengaluru.

A government order was issued with this regard on June 1. For the time being, the public distribution card (PDS) will be the ID card used by the patients.

The central government scheme, Rashtriya Swasthya Bhima Yojana (RSBY), will continue till August, 2018, and all other state government health schemes, including Yeshasvini and Vajpayee Arogyashree, have been subsumed with the Arogya Karnataka scheme.
