Ink mark on left hand middle finger for voters in Kundapur

Last Updated 11 May 2018, 16:59 IST

The voters in Kundapur, Kaup and Sakleshpur Assembly constituencies shall have the indelible ink marked on their left hand middle finger, stated a letter issued by the Secretariat of the Election Commission of India to the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka.

Indelible ink will be marked on the left-hand forefinger of voters in other constituencies of Karnataka.

The move is initiated keeping in mind the fact that the mark of the indelible ink applied to the left-hand forefinger of voters at the election to the Gram Panchayat in Sakleshpur, Kundapur and Udupi taluks, is still apparent on the nails of some voters.

However, if there are proxy voters for classified service voters, marking of ink in their case in Kundapur, Kaup and Sakleshpur Assembly constituencies should be on the left ring finger, as against the left middle finger, the letter said.
