The principal district and sessions court on Monday acquitted all three suspects in the sensational Karthik Raj murder case, due to lack of evidence.
Karthik Raj’s sister Kavyashree, Goutam and his brother Gourav were acquitted.
Karthik Raj, son of former Mangaluru taluk panchayat member Umesh, was attacked at Konaje, on October 22, 2016.
The murder had taken political turn with MP Nalin Kumar Kateel threatening to set the district on fire, if the culprits were not arrested by the police.
The police then arrested Karthik’s sister Kavyashree, Goutam and Gourav for allegedly plotting the murder. The judgement was pronounced by Judge K S Bilagi.
