Shanivarasanthe, Mudigere face rain and thunder

Heavy rains coupled with gusty wind, lightning and thunder lashed Shanivarasanthe on Sunday.

The water overflowed in drains. Following gusty wind, several damages were reported in the hobli. The asbesto sheets of a home industry flew away, following gusty wind and damaged 3,000 arecanut sheaths and 4,000 arecanut sheath plates. The retaining wall of Sacred Heart Convent collapsed. Even Kodlipete hobli too experienced rain.

Mudigere, in Chikkamagaluru district, too experienced rain for more than an hour. The rain brought relief from the scorching heat.

Kirugunda, Bettadamane, Uggehalli, Janige, Jannapura, Gonibeedu too experienced good rain.
